Thaddeus
Briner received his Master of Architecture from Rice University,
and is currently a project architect at Rogers Marvel Architects
in New York City. Briner's submission for "City Limits," was comprised
of his recent competition entries including those for Pier 54 Sun
Shade and the TKTS booth, both organized by the Van Alen Institute;
the Bigfoot Competition for a new football stadium for Venice Beach,
Los Angeles; and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation Competition. All
of the projects, grouped under the heading "hardwhere," attempt
to "refract the transparency of system," giving a physical reference
to movement and place in an increasingly "virtual" world.
