Petra
Kempf
A
native of Germany, Petra Kempf received her Master of Science of
Architecture and Design from Columbia University. Until recently
Kempf worked for the New York City Department of City Planning where
she was project manager and urban designer for the Grand Central
Underground Pedestrian Network Enhancement Project. She is currently
teaching urban design at both Pratt Institute and the State University
of New York at Buffalo. Kempf's competition portfolio, titled Met(r)onymy
1, is a series of hand drawn abstract diagrams of urban movement,
transportation, and form on overlaid sheets of translucent vellum.
